Position Overview:
As a Reconciliation and Payments Specialist, you will support the smooth and accurate management of the company’s financial transactions. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will help ensure that outgoing payments are processed on time, incoming funds are accurately matched, and any irregularities or suspicious activities are promptly identified and flagged.
Responsibilities within the team:
Managing and maintaining Excel files for manual reconciliations and financial tracking
Processing daily bank transfers to ensure suppliers, staff, and partners are paid on schedule
Matching incoming payments to invoices in Excel and preparing reports to confirm accurate collections
Maintaining the accounts ledger to keep financial records clean and up to date
Preparing weekly and monthly reports (e.g., cash balance, outstanding invoices, basic profit & loss) to give management a clear picture of cash flow and performance
Monitoring for errors or fraud, such as duplicate payments or unusual transactions, to protect the company from loss and regulatory issues
Supporting audits and compliance checks to ensure smoother and faster external reviews
Collaborating with senior finance colleagues to learn best practices and share workload during peak periods.
Job requirements
Facing the challenges of the role requires:
Minimum 4 years of experience in a finance or accounting-related role
A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but alternatively, relevant practical experience in the field is also valued
Advanced Excel skills required, including extensive experience with manual reconciliations, data analysis, and financial reporting
Comfortable working with spreadsheets and online banking platforms
Strong attention to detail, able to catch and fix small errors before they escalate
High level of confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive financial data
Ability to communicate financial information to non-finance colleagues
Curious mindset and eagerness to learn from experienced finance professionals.
